San Diego Tailgating Engagement Session
A Tailgate Engagement Session!? I love when I just completely bond with a client. It makes for such a different experience if we are like minded. Mai & Garrett are two totally in love and totally rad people. They were able to let loose, get silly ( & a lil handsy!) and that made for a perfect engagement session in San Diego at Fiesta Island.
Because Mai & Garrett tend to snuggle up in the back of his truck at drive-through movies, we decided to take advantage of some tailgating for their engagement session. Engagement sessions are so different than weddings. We have to build authenticity and create a storyline. I love to somehow incorporate a little piece of normal life into your session. Lets not run on the beach holding hands at sunset if that ain’t your thang!
Fiesta Island was the perfect place for a San Diego engagement session near the beach. It provides a lot of different backdrops and tends to be empty on the weekdays. You can whip your car right up to some pretty cool boulders and overlook the bay.
Is it just me or have you noticed that mustard yellow is so in this year. Mai opted for a jumpsuit to be comfortable. I always recommend that you wear at least one option of pants or jumpsuit during our shoot together. I’ll have you moving around a lot and jumping on your fiancé. Mai’s engagement ring is vintage. It’s such a beautiful setting featuring not one but TWO diamonds. Hey hey, good job Garrett!
